RAN design service
Planning Services
Network planning services include all aspects of network planning starting from tuning of radio propagation model and initial dimensioning for radio, transmission, IP core and switching network elements.
Planning activities of mobile network also include definition of the whole network topology, media and technology selections, equipment configurations, synchronisation and management plan. Radio network planning concerns coverage and capacity planning with frequency allocation and interference analysis as well as detail planning activities, which concentrate on parameter planning with field measurements.
Services also include site candidate identification and selection, technical site surveys and line-of-sight checks.
Optimisation Services
Once the network is up and running, Koonsys's optimisation services offer a full range of optimisation solutions to keep the network operating at the peak performance. We offer services and solutions to maintain and improve the network availability and quality. When the network evolves we have the ability to expand and upgrade live networks when needed.
Optimisation services can be divided into Pre-Launch Optimisation, Network Performance Improvement Optimization Projects and Continuous Optimisation Services. These services include different kinds of network performance analysis and solutions for installation, construction and further development of the network.
Pre-Launch Optimisation
During the contract negotiations the requirements for acceptance criteria of the radio network are set. Coverage requirements percentage of urban, suburban, rural etc. areas are covered with certain location probability. Also quality criteria are set for calls (drop call ratio, handover success ratio, call set-up success ratio etc.). When the whole network or a part of it is going to be put on-the-air, pre-launch optimisation is a good practice. It verifies the planned parameters, network configurations and even BTS implementation. We provide those verification services by site visits, NMS-statistics and drive tests measurements.
Network Performance Improvement
Optimisation is needed, when the network shows signs of lower quality or a major increase in traffic is expected causing degradation in quality of service (QoS). The improvement project usually takes from one week to two months. During that time the network or a part of it will be tuned to meet the better quality criteria.
Continuous Optimisation
Continuous optimisation is a process, which focuses on checking the network quality continuously and takes actions when needed. It is a more constant way of maintaining good quality in the network, especially when the mobile networks are changing rapidly and more and more customers are being served.
